NORDIC MUSEUM

“Bright Yellow and Dark Blue” Aug 20 — Sep 26, 2004
Reception Friday, Aug 20, 5:30-8:00 PM
2655 NW Market Street, Seattle WA

This show provides an intimate peek into the world of two artists, Lisa Liedgren and Mia Enell, who were both born and raised in Sweden. They met in 1991 at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1995, Liedgren moved to Seattle, Enell to New York. Since then they have been communicating about their art and what it is to be Swedish, a woman, and an artist. Explains Liedgren, “We did not want to create a theme-specific show. Looking at each other’s work, we found darkness, light, and some of the northern spirits in what we both do.”
